Rose Fertilizing

If you want to give your rose bushes an extra boost, fertilizing is the way to go.
There are a few types of rose fertilizer which either come in liquid and granular form.
Use a fertilizer suited for roses from your local garden centre. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for quantity and frequency.
Make sure the soil is moist before you fertilize to avoid burning the roots.
When it comes to fertilizing roses, newly planted bushes need fertilizer that’s high in phosphorus, which promotes root growth.
Established roses won’t need to be fertilized until early spring as they begin to leaf out.
After the first blooming cycle has finished, you can fertilize for the second time to encourage repeat-flowering.
Stop fertilizing your roses in late summer when they begin preparing for winter dormancy.
